Event: Workshop on the Occasion of World Entrepreneurship Day
On August 21st, 2025 under the auspices of the Institutional Innovation Council of the Institute and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Hindu Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Jind organized a workshop on the occasion of World Entrepreneurship Day.
The event focused on 'Entrepreneurship and Innovation as a Career' and aimed to inspire students to explore self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures. The workshop was chaired by Dr. Poonam Mor, Principal of the College and Dr. Priyanka Sahni, Convenor of the Innovation Council and Entrepreneurship Development Cell.
Honourable Principal Dr. Punam Mor said that as we know India is a developing economy, and the importance of entrepreneurship cannot be overstated—it plays a vital role in fostering social change and driving innovation. Entrepreneurs are viewed as national assets, contributing significantly to the nation's prosperity. Many of the world's leading countries stand at the forefront due to their visionary approaches, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. Entrepreneurship promotes economic growth; it creates vibrant, inclusive, and secure communities.
The first session featured Mr. Kapil Madan, Director of Shreejan Startup Incubators, who addressed the students on the importance of adopting entrepreneurship and innovation as a career path. He motivated students to create their own future through self-employment, emphasizing the vast opportunities available in today’s dynamic economic landscape.
The second speaker, CA Ashwini Jain from the Jain Group of Industries, inspired students by emphasizing the satisfaction that comes from creating employment opportunities for others. He likened entrepreneurship to a race — a journey filled with challenges and growth and encouraged students to mentally prepare themselves to embrace this path for a fulfilling future.
In the subsequent session, Mr. Vikas Nain from Om Satwik Textiles, Narwana — a unit registered with MSME shared his entrepreneurial journey. He proudly stated that his venture currently provides employment to over 100 women. He urged students not to limit themselves to seeking jobs but to create them instead.
The final speaker was Mrs. Kanak Bhardwaj, a successful entrepreneur who runs a bakery business in Jind. She passionately spoke about the urgency of adopting self-employment, especially in an era where unemployment is a growing concern. She emphasized that self-employment is now a vital and sustainable means of earning a livelihood.
The workshop concluded with a message from the Honourable Madam Principal Dr. Poonam Mor who is also President of Institutional Innovation Council and the Convenor of Entrepreneurship Development Cell Dr. Priyanka Sahni reaffirming their commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial spirit among students and supporting innovative initiatives on campus. At the end of Workshop, Dr. Geeta Gupta ji Proposed a formal vote of thanks to all the dignitaries. On this occasion Rekha Saini, Mrs. Mrs. Anjali Gupta, Mrs. Neelam, Dr. Keauty and Mrs. Arti Saini were also present. The honourable madam Principal Congratulated the team of Institutional Innovation Council and Entrepreneurship Development Cell for the successful organisation of event.
