Virtual Expert Lecture on "Self-Reliant and Reliable AI in Higher Educational Institutions"

Hindu Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Jind organized a Virtual Expert Lecture on "Safe and Trusted AI in Higher Educational Institutions" on 3rd February 2026. The event was held under the joint aegis of the Department of Economics and the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC).
This program was conducted as part of the national initiative 'AI for Aatmanirbhar Bharat: HEI Pre-Summit Engagements towards India AI Impact Summit 2026' which aims to promote the ethical, transparent, and credible use of Artificial Intelligence in higher education.
The resource Person Mr. Abhinav Agarwal from CMBC, THSTI, Faridabad elaborated on the expanding role of AI in academia. He highlighted how AI enhances the teaching-learning process, making it more effective and student-centric, while also empower research, assessment systems, academic governance, and innovation. Mr. Agarwal emphasized crucial aspects such as ethics, transparency, accountability, and data security, asserting that only reliable AI can form the foundation of a sustainable and self-reliant educational ecosystem.
The event was presided over by the honourable Principal of the college, Dr. Punam Mor. In her address, Principal Madam emphasized that in the current technological era, the adoption of AI by higher educational institutions is essential. However, she stressed that its use must be responsive, sensitive, and aligned with human values. Dr. Punam Mor underscored the need to foster innovation, self-reliance, digital literacy, and technical skills among students, describing such academic programs as the need of the hour.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Priyanka Sahni. In her statement, she outlined the event's objective: to familiarize faculty and students with the new dimensions of AI and to empower them technologically in alignment with national development goals. She noted that such interactive lectures significantly enrich the academic environment.
The lecture was attended by faculty members and students of the college. Participants described the session as enlightening and inspiring and expressed a strong desire for more such programs in the future. The event successfully raised awareness about the responsible and strategic use of AI in higher education.
