A one-day awareness camp on the theme 'Managing the Digital World - Think Before You Share' was organized at Hindu Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Jind on February 7th, 2026 under the Legal Literacy Cell on the occasion of Safer Internet Day. The program was presided over by Principal Dr. Poonam Mor. The camp began with the offering of flowers to Goddess Saraswati in the first session. The program was conducted by the program coordinator, Mrs. Arti Saini and co-coordinator, Dr. Pinki. As the main speaker, Mrs. Ritu, Assistant Professor from the Computer Science Department of the college, delivered a lecture to the students on the topic of social media security. She explained to the students how to secure their accounts and stay safe online. She discussed password security, social media safety, online friendships and data protection. In the second session of the camp, a short film on data protection was shown to the students. The students appreciated the film for raising awareness on the important topic of cyber security. The students were made aware of how to protect themselves from cybercrime through the video. In the final session of the camp, students were asked to write slogans on the topic of cybersecurity, in which they participated enthusiastically. Ten students participated in the competition and expressed their thoughts through slogans. Slogans such as 'Data Safe - Life Safe', 'Cybersecurity - Our Responsibility', 'Strong Password - Secure Account', etc. were used by the students to express their feelings. The students who secured the first, second and third positions in the competition were honored by Principal Dr. Poonam Mor. Dr. Neelam Rani, Assistant Professor of Sanskrit served as a member of the judging panel. At the end of the program, the Principal shared some very important thoughts on cybersecurity with the students. She said that cybersecurity is very important in today's digital age. We should always be vigilant to protect our data. Create strong passwords, do not click on unknown links and do not share your private information on social media. Mrs. Neelam, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Mrs. Raman were also present on this occasion.
